Brief Biography: Dr Suvash C. Saha is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering in the School of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), where he leads the Computational Biofluid & Heat Transfer (CBHT) Lab. His research sits at the intersection of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), biofluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, and phase-change materials, with a strong focus on respiratory and cardiovascular flows, mucociliary clearance, and micro-/nanoplastic transport in the lung. Dr Saha has authored over 350 refereed publications, including more than 240 journal articles, over 80 conference papers and several book chapters, and has been repeatedly listed among the world’s top 2% scientists (Stanford ranking). He works extensively with multiphase CFD, FVM/FEM, LBM and FSI methods, and increasingly with data-driven and physics-informed approaches (PINNs) for complex biological and thermo-fluid systems. He is active in international collaborations spanning Australia, Europe and Asia, and serves as guest editor for several special issues on heat transfer, particle transport and building/indoor flows in journals such as Atmosphere and related MDPI titles. Dr Saha’s work is characterised by mechanistic modelling tightly linked to real-world problems, from artificial cilia for lung clearance to hydrogen supply chains, with a consistent emphasis on translational impact and mentoring the next generation of researchers.

Bio: Prof. Liang received his B.Eng. in 2009 and Ph.D. in 2014 from Dalian University of Technology, where he subsequently began his academic career as a faculty member. From 2015 to 2017, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Boiling and Two-Phase Flow Laboratory in Purdue University (USA), focusing on experimental investigation and theoretical modeling of two-phase flow and heat transfer. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to heat transfer and fluid mechanics, he was promoted to Full Professor in 2022. He was also appointed to Visiting Professor in University of British Columbia (Canada) from 2024 to 2025. His research focuses on liquid/vapor phase-change heat transfer and multiphase flow, spanning evaporation, boiling, and condensation across nano-, micro-, and macro-scales. He has authored over 100 publications, including more than 90 papers in archival journals of International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, International Journal of Multiphase Flow, and Applied Thermal Engineering. Prof. Liang is a member of Multiphase Flow Committee of Chinese Society of Engineering Thermophysics. He serves on International Advisory Board of Thermal Science, Editorial Board of Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing.
